Nine Colorado State University startups have earned spots to present at the Rocky Mountain Life Science Investor and Partnering Conference. These companies will pitch solutions to tackle unmet needs across biotechnology, medical devices, diagnostics, animal health, and therapeutics. The Colorado BioScience Association hosts the event in Vail, CO from Sept. 30–Oct. 2.
Roughly 50 of the region’s most promising life science ventures from across the Rocky Mountain region will meet with and pitch investors and strategic partners who can help them grow, scale, and succeed.
Their participation comes at a landmark moment for the region’s life sciences sector, which generated a record $3.2 billion in funding and investment in 2025. By turning their research into commercial realities, CSU innovators drive scientific breakthroughs and help power one of the nation’s most dynamic life science ecosystems. Below are the nine CSU startups pitching at this year’s conference.
Featured CSU Innovations
Burst Diagnostics – Developing a rapid testing platform that delivers lab-quality sensitivity for at-home and point-of-care diagnostics.
SiVec Biotechnologies – Develops a live biotherapeutic delivery platform (BactPac™) that uses engineered bacteria to deliver nucleic acids, proteins, and gene editing tools directly to targeted tissues.
YoungHeartValve – Makes fully synthetic, longer-lasting artificial heart valves that resist clotting and calcification without requiring animal tissue or lifetime blood thinners.
Vital Foams – Injectable medical foams that quickly cover complex wounds and deliver medicine directly to the injury in emergencies.
Genesis Tissue – Designs and manufactures custom 3D-bioprinted regenerative tissue implants that naturally regrow into a patient’s own native tissue over time.
Photon Pharma – Turns a patient’s own tumor cells into cancer immunotherapies by inactivating their tumor cells to train their immune system to target solid tumors.
MOLA Biotechnologies – Developing blood treatment technology intended to reduce pathogens in whole blood for transfusion safety.
Renovare Therapeutics – Creates innovative therapies to repair degenerated joints by naturally regrowing cartilage and bone to reverse osteoarthrosis. Renovare is the first company created under an ARPA-H grant led by the University of Colorado.
SusMer – Manufactures eco-friendly, body safe, fully resorbable polymers for implantable medical and surgical devices.
