Innovator Bio

My lab focuses on photonic biosensors as well as components and systems for high speed optical communication. Broadly known as the CSU Optoelectronics Group, we study both vertical cavity and planar waveguide based optoelectronic devices. Within those subgroups, studies are focused on local evanescent array coupled (LEAC) waveguide biosensors, on-chip optical interconnects, optofluidic intracavity spectroscopy (OFIS), fluidic intracavity laser diode (FILD) sensors, high speed VCSELs for chip-to-chip optical interconnects, non-linear effects in VCSEL based multimode fiber links, and fluorescence based fiber optic sensors.
