CSURF welcomes Lynn Johnson as Chief Financial Officer
The Colorado State University Research Foundation (CSURF) is excited to announce that Lynn Johnson will be joining the team as Chief Financial Officer, starting May 9th, 2022.
Lynn is a Certified Public Accountant and spent several years in public accounting with KPMG and served as the CFO for a non-profit cancer research center in Denver prior to joining CSU in 2003. Over her 19-year career at CSU, Lynn served the university as Director of Sponsored Programs, Director of Business and Financial Services, University Controller, and most recently, as Vice President for University Operations and Chief Financial Officer.
As VP for University Operations, Lynn oversaw multiple administrative departments, including Facilities Management, Business and Financial Services, the Office of Budgets, Human Resources, and Safety and Risk Services.
In addition to her numerous administrative roles, Lynn has also served as the liaison to the Administrative Professional Council and State Classified Personnel Council, oversaw many University initiatives and programs such as the implementation of the Kauli Financial System, Commitment to Campus, Strategic Partnerships, as well as serving on the board of the Semester at Sea program.
“As I reflect on these past 19 years at CSU, I feel a tremendous sense of gratitude for the opportunities I was afforded and appreciation for all those I had the privilege to work with during my tenure,” Lynn remarked when asked about the transition. “I am looking forward to continuing this work, from a different lens, with my colleagues at CSURF.”

The Colorado State University Research Foundation (CSURF) is a 501c3 not-for-profit entity that services a multi-campus system, under guidance of the Colorado State University System. This multi-campus system includes CSU Fort Collins, CSU Pueblo, CSU Global, and the newly developed CSU Spur campus at the National Western Center in Denver. CSURF provides multiple services to the CSU System, including the protection of intellectual property and licensing functions that are the focus of the technology transfer unit, strategic real estate functions and advisory services, and a financing program for CSU leadership-approved purchasing needs.
