Jessica joined CSU STRATA in 2018 to support the technology transfer team in both licensing efforts and the protection of intellectual property (IP). In 2021, Jessica became the Director of Intellectual Property Strategy to lead the development and execution of our IP strategy for Colorado State University System’s extensive IP portfolio, in addition to providing guidance regarding protection of the innovative technologies developed at CSU for technology commercialization matters. In this role, Jessica works diligently to maximize the value and impact of CSU-owned IP to fulfill the land-grant university mission. She is our resident IP expert and technical specialist in biomedical devices/materials, life sciences, and engineering.
She holds a double BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Cellular Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, a BS in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado, an MSL in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Colorado Law School, and an ME in Biomedical Engineering from Colorado State University.
Jessica is a recipient of the 2021 Howard Bremer Scholarship presented by AUTM and awarded to those who—like Howard Bremer— wish to bring creativity and innovation to the academic technology transfer profession. Jessica is also a new member of the AUTM Public Policy Legal Task Force committee.
