Jessica Trostel is the Director of Intellectual Property Strategy at CSU Strata, leading the development and implementation of protection strategies to maximize commercial value and impact of the CSU System’s extensive intellectual property portfolio. Jessica leads a team of patent agents and paralegals, guiding academic and industry partners in evaluating and positioning intellectual property opportunities.
Jessica is a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) with extensive expertise in biomedical devices, life sciences, and engineering. She holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Cellular Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado, a Master of Studies in Law in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Colorado Law School, and a Master of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from CSU.
She is a recipient of the Howard Bremer Scholarship presented by AUTM, awarded to those who bring creativity and innovation to the academic technology transfer profession. She is also a member of AUTM’s Public Policy Legal Task Force.
